Artist: Various
Title: Groove Temple
Label: Music Mosaic (http://www.music-mosaic.com/)
Genre: World Beat

I ain't exactly lazy, but the blurb on the back of this cd, and on the website, can't be much improved upon when it comes to explaining just what's going on in these 53 minutes:

Pulsing world beats interweave with spacious melodies for a cool sacred journey into the global temple of music. Hypnotic sounds of exotic instruments (sarod, dumbeck, hajouj, tablas) and enticing voices emanated from India, Australasia, Central Europe and the African savannah. Spiked with electric accents (keyboard, cello, guitar, synthesixer, drums, bass ) and full of mystical verve, this sound-ceremony will ignite your Spirit!

It's all true. I've heard a lot of compilations from Music Mosaic in the last couple years, and they've never failed to please. They're also getting better in the rhythm department. The equation is 50-50 on beat vs. world. Impossible to divide.

When I listen to Groove Temple I feel like I'm taking the long journey - to wherever I want. I don't know what country I'm in, or what's going on, but I know that there are no people around. I'm coasting through a game of Myst where the puzzles aren't too hard and where every turn is clickable with incredible and mind-satisfying results.

9 artists give you the peace, give you the dance, give you the electrics to make it happen. Easiest part is yours: buying the thing.
